The 1920s were a veritable heyday for Steiff dogs, who were regularly to be found at parties as well. With her long mohair plush and wide, innocent eyes, Molly dog – a fixture of the Steiff range since 1925 – appealed above all to female fans. She was a big hit and caused quite a sensation when she outsold the Teddy bears! The original – a special variant from 1927 on which the 10-cm replica with a bow and bell is based – can be found in the Steiff archive, the white- and green-tipped mohair plush was specially recreated by the Steiff Schulte manufactory.
